On March 5, the Chengdu-Xiamen "Silk Road Maritime" rail-sea intermodal train departed from the China Railway Intermodal Chengdu Central Station, marking the addition of a new international logistics corridor connecting Chengdu International Railway Port with the global market and injecting strong momentum into the initiative of "Sichuan goods going global."
The inaugural train was fully loaded with specialty products from Sichuan. Departing from Chengxiang Railway Station in Chengdu, it travels by rail directly to Qianchang Railway Station in Xiamen, where goods are transferred to international container ships at Xiamen Port and transported by sea to Southeast Asia and Taiwan, China. This achieves seamless integration of railway transport, port transshipment and international shipping, creating an efficient, stable and convenient logistics route for western inland regions to access global markets via southern maritime channels.
